Ilkley Art Trail 2012 - Day 3

Day 3 is a day of lost images! 39 in all and I will try to revisit the venues due to feature today, through the week!
What I can relate, however, is a catch up from Saturday of pics I was too done in to negotiate other IT issues with to feature then...

The Arcade (VENUE 4) has never, maybe since it's Victorian hey days looked so remarkably brill. Thanks to Anita Bowerman, Stephen Harrington Simpson and Kate Johnson. Many thanks to all the resident businesses, Nora's, The Dress Agency, Create and Arcade Kitchens for their lovely support and coffee! Together we have made it greater than the sum of its parts.

Ilkley Art Trail 2012 - Day 2

The organisers travels today took in several venues on another glorious sunny autumn day in October. Ilkley town centre was quieter in general than yesterday but a nice cultural buzz pervaded The Grove as volunteers gave out IAT programmes and some folk were already engaged with the Art Trail and full of good tales about their experience so far on the second day.

For anyone who may have missed the Newsletters, they are now uploaded to the website on the newsletter & contact page.

The brand new programme for 2012 can be found and downloaded from the homepage www.ilkleyarttrail.org.uk

This is us gearing up for a bigger Trail than last year. 48 artists in all, represented over 28 venues.
We have 50% new artists with new collections, including ceramics, 2D work, sculpture... and new venues to include two central gardens.

A paper cut-out map of Ilkley featuring some of the town's 'sites of special artistic interest'  will be exhibited and prints will be available.

We think it's going to be 'pretty flippin' good'!

Aesthetica Art Prize 2012

May I bring attention to Aesthetica Art Prize. I would be delighted if some Ilkley Art Trail 2011 participant or artists in the Bradford district were to win this...

Aesthetica Art Prize

The Aesthetica Art Prize is a celebration of excellence in art from across the world and is hosted by Aesthetica Magazine, an internationally recognised art and culture publication. Four shortlisted artists and four student artists will be selected for exhibition in spring 2013. Artists working in all forms are welcome to submit work and may enter one of the four categories below:

- Photographic & Digital Art

- Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture

- Painting & Drawing

- Installation & Performance

One overall winner will receive £1000 prize money and editorial coverage in Aesthetica in addition to the exhibition. The winners and finalists, as well as a longlist of artists will be published in the accompanying publication to the Aesthetica Art Prize. All artists featured will receive a complimentary copy of this publication.

Entry costs £15 and permits the submission of two pieces into any one category.

The deadline for entry is 31 August 2012.
